Black Prosecutors

The National Black Prosecutors Association is the only organization dedicated to recruiting, retaining, and training Black prosecutors.

We believe in the power of Black prosecutors to effect change in the criminal justice system through support, education, fellowship, and community action.
NBPA Mission
01.
Recruitment
We are dedicated to recruiting and hiring diverse talent in local, state and federal prosecutors offices. Prosecutors directly support the community through zealous advocacy, victim support and community service. By increasing the number of Black prosecutors in the system, we can create a more diverse and equitable justice system.

Our Foundation provides scholarship and fellowship to law students, while actively working to enhance and fortify the pipeline to prosecution.
02.
Retention
We are committed to retaining Black prosecutors in the prosecution field. By providing support and resources, we help Black prosecutors succeed and make a lasting impact in their communities.
Prosecutors offices have a variety of opportunities including leadership positions available.

With attrition and retirements, its important to ensure that prosecutors remain committed to the community and that offices maintain institutional knowledge and experience.
03.
Training
We offer training and professional development opportunities to help Black prosecutors grow and advance in their legal careers. By investing in the development of Black prosecutors, we create a more effective and equitable justice system.

Through our annual conference, programs, trainings, and local events, there is something for everyone.
04.
Community
We believe in the power of community. By connecting Black prosecutors throughout the country, and with our community-centered initiatives, we create a stronger and more effective justice system.
We strive to fortify and grow our community throughout the United States. Whether its through chapter or regional events, via social platforms, presentations or at our annual conference, our community remains inclusive and available for new and experienced prosecutors.
